Considering growing demand for shrinkable packs in Ukraine and abroad, the Company has developed the project on creation of 7-layer shrinkable packs for food products. Currently, the demand for 7-layer shrinkable packs in Ukraine is satisfied through imports from the US. In order to produce shrinkable packs it is required to purchase extrusion line for making 7-layer shrinkable film, and 2 welding machines for the total amount of approx. EURO 3.74 million. The project's implementation will allow production of up to 100 million shrinkable packs annually, of different sizes (width of up to 400 mm) and of various color. It is proposed to realize the present opportunity on the production territory of the Company. Shrinkable packs market analysis:
Analysis of market dynamics of consumption of shrinkable packs by Ukrainian enterprises for the past 3-5 years indicates average annual growth of sales of 20% (worldwide consumption growth dynamics is also high at the level of 15-18%). Today, the shrinkable packs are not manufactured in Ukraine and therefore all packs are imported. In general, about 28 million of vacuum and shrinkable packs of foreign manufacturers were imported in Ukraine during 2003, for the total amount of over EURO 3.6 million. The main suppliers of shrinkable packs to the markets of Ukraine and Russia are CRYOVAC and CURWOOD companies. Their share on the Ukrainian market is about 80%. Preliminary estimate of demand for shrinkable packing in Ukraine has shown that demands of only meat processors are satisfied by 75 to 80%.
